SHUM is a team of interdisciplinary artists who create physical art objects and digital content. Our commercial фтв artistic projects arise from sincere passion and mind games, with experimentation and irony as central elements.

Born out of a decade-long friendship, Andrey Gorlachev (new media artist) and Alexander Zhiganov (creative producer) initiated our journey in January 2023, and together with 11 like-minded creators, they form the core of SHUM.

Introducing an exhibition of electromagnetic fields and ceramic objects made by SHUM studio in collaboration with the renowned SOMA Laboratory. People perceive the world through five senses. However, the true diversity of the surrounding nature is hidden from human receptors. For example, humans hear frequencies only from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. We offer our guests the opportunity to expand this range in an immersive experience.

The installation itself is a room with ceramic objects illuminated by spotlights. All of them were exclusively made for the exhibition.

The space around and inside the ceramics may seem empty to everyone, except for the person with a SOMA Ether, because the room is filled with electromagnetic fields that the device detects and converts into sound. Our visitor explores the objects and location, discovering new sounds and signals: speech and musical fragments, memes and environmental sounds, which all come together to create a unique soundscape.
